OBVIA unveils its analysis of the contact notification application offered by Mila
The International Observatory on the Societal Impacts of AI and Digital Technology (OBVIA) recently published an analysis of COVI, the contact notification application offered by Mila. This analysis highlights the questions raised by its development, the operation of which has been described in a white paper, and offers several recommendations.
Several IID researchers, together with numerous researchers from various backgrounds, contributed to this analysis, carried out in the context of a health crisis and in the midst of a period of confinement in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The analysis is mainly based on the operation of COVI described by Mila in a white paper released on May 18, 2020.
