A White Paper on the Challenges of Privacy in the Age of AI

Several researchers connected with IID, including Pierre-Luc Déziel, Richard Khoury and Philippe Després, participated in the preparation of a white paper headed by the OBVIA presenting the opinions of researchers in law, computer engineering and health related to the challenges raised by artificial intelligence with regard to the protection of personal information.

The Quebec Information Access Commission launched a consultation this past winter on a series of principles aimed at providing a framework for issues relating to the protection of personal information in the context of the use of artificial intelligence.

Following receipt of the Commission’s consultation document, OBVIA began a consultation process with some of its members with the aim of gathering feedback from experts from various disciplinary backgrounds. The result is a white paper that presents the opinions of researchers in law, computer engineering and health.
