An AI project in the aerospace sector at UL: François Laviolette presents the DEEL project on Radio-Canada
Our researcher François Laviolette, director of the Big Data Research Center and Head Scientist of the Quebec component of the DEEL project, was on the radio program C’est encore mieux l’après-midi, Monday afternoon, September 14, to present this research initiative.
After smart cars, we could soon see the arrival of smart planes. This is what the Quebec component of the DEEL project is striving for, where DEEL refers to DEpendable & Explainable Learning. This project was launched with a budget of 7.5 million, of which 2.9 million comes from the Government of Quebec, and involves 20 research teams from 5 Quebec universities who will attempt to understand how artificial intelligence “thinks” in a problem solving situation.
The professor and director of the Big Data Research Center at Université Laval, François Laviolette, Head of the Quebec component of the project, answers Guillaume Dumas’ questions.
