Video discussion between François Laviolette and the chief scientist of Quebec, Rémi Quirion

On June 19, as part of the Online Machine Learning School, students had the opportunity to attend a most interesting discussion between the Director of the Big Data Research Center, François Laviolette, and the Chief Scientist of Quebec, Rémi Quirion, devoted to the future of AI in our societies.

During this 60-minute conversation, the two scientists had the opportunity to discuss current issues related to AI: data management, concerns related to privacy, collaborations between research and industry, and much more.

About the Machine Learning School

This school, now in its third edition, strives to introduce participants to machine learning, a field of artificial intelligence that consists of combining a set of computing science and statistics tools that enable the computer to “learn” from data. The School recently adapted its formula to allow registrants to do their learning entirely remotely.
