ENCQOR 5G combines 5G technology with artificial intelligence and data science at its Quebec City innovation center

ENCQOR 5G is proud to announce the conclusion of a strategic partnership between IID (Institute Intelligence and Data) of Université Laval and Prompt for the management of its Quebec City innovation site. This partnership will allow 5G to collaborate with artificial intelligence and data science.

Since September 1, 2020, IID and Prompt have joined forces to bring this exceptional site to life and mobilize hundreds of Quebec SMEs to develop products and services using the new capacities offered by the 5G connectivity.

“The addition of IID as a new partner in the greater Quebec City region will allow ENCQOR 5G to offer SMEs a unique and powerful value proposition that combines easy access to cutting-edge expertise in the field of AI and data science with high-level know-how in IoT and 5G connectivity”, confirms Pierre Boucher, CEO of Innovation ENCQOR.

A natural alliance

“As a coordinating partner of the ENCQOR 5G program in Quebec, Prompt is proud to broaden its mobilization mandate to support the development of the ENCQOR 5G innovation center, together with IID, in the capital city of the province of Quebec. This alliance is all the more natural as Prompt manages grant programs in artificial intelligence (AI) of Quebec’s Ministry of Economy and Innovation and 5G is a key component to support the deployment of AI-related technologies. This line of research and innovation is therefore naturally required and we are convinced that Quebec SMEs will be able to benefit greatly from this opportunity”, adds Luc Sirois, President and CEO of Prompt.

“With cutting-edge expertise in AI, and having developed innovative approaches for collaboration and support for businesses and organizations, IID will give a new impetus to the ENCQOR 5G innovation site in Quebec City. Everything will be arranged such that the site will be the ideal place to support SMEs wishing to experiment or integrate technologies located at the intersection of 5G, AI and data science”, explains Christian Gagné, director of IID (Institute Intelligence and Data) of Université Laval.

Located in the heart of the Technological Park of Metropolitan Quebec City, the ENCQOR 5G innovation site in Quebec City has one of the few 5G antennas available in Canada that is accessible to SMEs for R&D in a pre-commercial context.
