For several years now, artificial intelligence has experienced a growing boom for a large number of uses and applications in everyday life. However, its foundations remain difficult to grasp and, as a consequence, its contributions and its limits are not easy to anticipate.

During this presentation, Julien Laumônier, data scientist, will demystify certain key concepts of artificial intelligence, in order to provide a better understanding of how AI works, its possibilities and its limits.

Julien Laumonier is a Data Scientist at IID (Institute Intelligence and Data) at Université Laval.

Julien Laumonier obtained a Ph.D. in multi-agent reinforcement learning and has more than 10 years of experience as an Information Technology Consultant in government, specializing in software architecture and development. Since returning to academic research, he has developed an interest in the ethics of artificial intelligence and the manner in which businesses are adopting this new technology.
