Chair in Nutrition

 Benoît Lamarche is the Scientific Director of the Nutrition, Health and Society Center (NUTRISS) in Quebec City. He is also a Full Professor at the School of Nutrition at Université Laval.

Since 2018, he has been leading the NutriQuébec project, the largest study on food ever carried out in the Province of Quebec. He has published more than 400 scientific articles in specialized journals in the fields of nutrition and cardiometabolic health and supervised more than 70 Master’s and Ph.D. students. He has received numerous recognitions, including the Founders’ Prize from the Quebec Society for Lipidology, Nutrition and Metabolism and the Khush Jeejeeboy Prize from the Canadian Nutrition Society for his research work on diet and health.

Benoît Lamarche and Jean Soulard co-authored two general-public books on nutrition, health and sports. In the more distant past, Benoît Lamarche participated in the Winter Olympics in long track speed skating (1984 and 1988).
