Brahim Chaib-draa graduated in Computer Engineering from the Higher School of Electricity (SUPELEC) in Paris (France) in 1978, and completed his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering in 1990 at the University of Hainaut-Cambrésis in Valence (France). That same year, he joined the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering at Université Laval in Quebec City (Canada) as a professor. There he heads the DAMAS research group (Data Analytics and Mobile Autonomous Systems).

In his research, Professor Chaib-draa is particularly interested in artificial intelligence, machine learning and complex decision-making. He has published numerous technical articles in these fields, and he sits on the editorial board of various specialized scientific journals.

Brahim Chaib-draa is also a member of ACM and AAAI, and is a senior member of the IEEE Computer Society.
