Marc Parizeau
Full Professor, Faculty of Science and Engineering, Université Laval
Marc Parizeau is a full professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Université Laval, and a member of the Big Data Research Center (CRDM) and the Research Center in Robotics, Vision and Machine Intelligence (CeRVIM). His research interests include pattern recognition, machine learning and computational intelligence, as well as parallel and distributed systems. He participated in the creation of the Calcul Québec consortium in 2012 and served as its scientific director from 2014 to 2017. He is also the instigator of the Platform for eXperiential Learning (PAX) used for this training program. For more than ten years, he has taught a credited introductory course in programming with Python (GLO-1901), a course which has been offered completely remotely since 2016 to large groups in an asynchronous mode.
